Not only does My wife, Martie know how to prepare a meal, but she is also a master at the presentation. But the food was not so attractive before she got her hands on it. It reminds me of the gracious work Jesus has done for me. I am well aware of my frailty and propensity to sin. I know that in and of myself I am not presentable to God. Yet Jesus takes me as I am and makes me what I should be. He presents me to our Father as a thing of beauty worthy to be in His presence.
내 아내 마티는 음식을 맛있게 요리할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 요리를 예쁘게 꾸미는 데도 일가견이 있습니다. 그러나 그 음식은 그녀가 요리하기 전까지는 그렇게 멋진 것이 아니었습니다. 이것은 주님이 나에게 행하신 은혜의 역사를 상기시켜줍니다. 나는 연약하며 또 죄성이 있음을 잘 알고 있습니다. 내 힘으로는 본질적으로 하나님 앞에 설 수 없음도 압니다. 하지만 예수님은 나를 있는 그대로 받아주시고 마땅히 되어야 할 모습으로 만들어주십니다. 예수님은 내가 하나님 앞에 설 수 있는 아름다운 존재로 우리 하나님 아버지께 나를 표현해 보여주십니다.
