Year after year My friend Marcia, the director of the Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf, trusts God to provide for the children and staff at her school. She never has much whether it’s water or food or school supplies. Yet she is always grateful for what God sends, and she is faithful to believe that He will continue to provide. As we begin a new year, do we have faith in God’s provision? To do so is to take our Savior at His word when He said, “Do not worry about your life. Do not worry about tomorrow”. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.
청각장애인을 위한 자메이카 기독학교 교장인 내 친구 마르샤는 해가 바뀔 때마다 하나님이 학교의 아이들과 교직원들에게 일용할 모든 것을 내려주실 것을 믿습니다. 그녀는 물이든 음식이든 학용품이든 많이 소유해본 적이 없습니다. 그러나 하나님께서 주시는 것에 항상 감사하며, 하나님이 계속해서 공급해주실 것을 신실하게 믿고 있습니다. 새해를 시작하는 이 때, 우리에게도 하나님께서 공급해주신다는 믿음이 있습니까? 그런 믿음은 목숨을 위하여 염려하지 말라 내일 일을 위하여 염려하지 말라고 하신 우리 구주의 말씀을 그대로 받아들이는 것입니다. 걱정은 내일의 슬픔을 없애지 못하고 오늘의 힘만 빠지게 합니다.
