Nothing speaks more clearly of God’s love than the cross of Jesus. He died in our place, so that our sin would not keep us separate from God for eternity. He lived out His words to the disciples: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends”. Because Christ sacrificed His life for the sake of love, we are all to love each other.
예수님의 십자가보다 하나님의 사랑을 더 분명하게 말해주는 것은 없습니다. 주님이 우리 대신 돌아가셨기 때문에 우리의 죄가 우리를 하나님으로부터 영원토록 떼어놓지 못하게 되었습니다. 주님은 사람이 친구를 위하여 자기 목숨을 버리면 이보다 더 큰 사랑이 없나니라는 말씀을 자신의 삶에서 실천하여 제자들에게 보여주셨습니다. 그리스도께서 사랑을 나타내시려 자신의 생명을 희생하셨기에, 우리도 모두 서로 사랑하는 것이 마땅합니다.
